Getting started - What people usually ask before starting

It's completely normal to have questions about how therapy works. Here are a few of the things people usually want to know before we get started.

  • What happens in a session? We check in, set shared goals, and talk about what's on your mind. Sessions are person-centred and responsive — you bring what feels most important, and we make sense of it together, at your pace. We can do this in person or remotely.
  • Do I need a clear goal to start therapy? Not at all. Many people don't. I use gentle, open questions to help us uncover what really matters, no pressure, no agenda, just space to explore what feels important.
  • Do I get tools or resources to take away? Sessions are mostly about in-the-room reflection. If helpful, I'll share resources or strategies, but we focus on what's useful to you, not ticking boxes. No worksheets unless they genuinely support your process.
  • How do I get started? Book a free 20-minute call, no strings, no pressure. We'll chat, see if it feels like a good fit, and if not, I'll help guide you to someone who might be.
